THIS INFORMATION IS TO BE TAKEN WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, please see Nvidia’s page for better understanding of the 50’s series, this post is my own personal opinion (yes the website is sentient).
Straight to the chase. Is the 5090 and the 50’s series better then the 40’s? Yes, lower temperatures and better fps, (altought marginally for the 5080 when compared to the 4080) the 5090 is given a raw output of about 30% more fps when compared to the 4090 (this is without the AI frames). The Image Upscaling, given a sufficient resolution, as well as the low imput delay should be what the 50’s being to the table.
The “fake” frames are really high, even capable of doubling your FPS, so what is so bad about it? The double frame problem is that it is made by AI, and may not look so good, so is the latency, given the AI generation.
It is not really a 240 FPS Graphics cars, as it carries some AI problems. It is up to you to decide if it bothers you enough to not buy it.
